Twin Cities Model Aero Club opened it gates to Fire & Rescue NSW Albury to undertake Multi Rotor training for new equipment being installed there. There were six participants and the training was conducted by Fire & Rescue NSW trainers to their competency standards.
The Hi Tech drones are fitted with a Speaker and have Infra-Red capability for dark or cloudy conditions. They can be used at fire incidents and can take 3d imaging of a heat source at a fire. The drones can also be used to search for missing person.
Albury, Deniliquin & Wagga Wagga are three stations in the Southern Riverina to have drone capability.
On-going arrangements have been made for the Albury participants to attend TCMAC to practice and maintain their skill level as a follow-up to the training.
